Today I went hiking in Muir Woods off CA-1. We hiked up the "Steep Ravine" trail, which was about 3 miles - starting from Stinson beach to the Ranger station on top. From the Ranger station, we went back down to the beach on the "Matt Davis" trail - a 4 mile hike. The return leg was better because it has many viewpoints along the way - overlooking the Pacific. The sun was out, but it was still windy and quite cold, especially the return leg.

Waddell Beach (Skyline to the Sea trail)
This is the other end of a very long (11 miles?) Trail that starts from Big Basin HQ. Certainly not for casual hikers. That's why we just drove up to Waddell Creek on CA-1 and hiked backwards from Waddell Creek - actually, from Rancho Del Oso across the hiway, took the "Skyline to the Sea Trail" and did the trail in reverse. Well, for a few miles only. Then we turned around and hiked back up to the beach and played frisbee. My friends and I are considering doing the complete trail sometime.
